A map showing the location of the Stanislaus Complex and Rim Fires in the Stanislaus National Forest and Yosemite National Park in California. The area burned during the 1987 Stanislaus Complex fire is shown in purple shading and the area burned during the 2013 Rim fire is marked by the dark red line delineating the fire’s perimeter. These two large wildfires occurred twenty-six years apart and affected much of the same area in the Sierra Nevada, California.
